På lørdag var det duket for en deilig minimix fra talentfulle Jacob Plant. Før han slo seg løs bak spakene fikk jeg tid til å finne ut mer om hva som skjer i livet hans for tiden.

There’s lots of stuff going on for you right now, what do you feel was the turning point for you?
I think the first turning point for me was the beginning of last year where I was remixing a lot of high profile artists. Last year alone I remixed Tinie Tempah, Underworld, Rita Ora, Oh Land, and many more.

After that I worked on my own material and got picked up by a record label called “Speakerbox” which is Mistajams new imprint on Ministry Of Sound.

Tell us more about the singning with Speakerbox?
It’s all very exciting really. I was really honoured that Mistajam (BBC Radio 1) picked up on my music, and gave me an opportunity to release on his label.

My first release on Speakerbox is a bass driven / rock influenced track called “Mosh Pit”. It features an amazing rapper from London ‘Majestic’ who is also my MC when I DJ.

UKF very kindly put it up on their Youtube channel a few days ago and it has already reached 63,000 views which I am really happy about!

How does it feel to have you mix played on national, norwegian radio?
It’s amazing. It always blows my mind when people reach out from other countries because of my music. Especially on a level this big!

What can we expect from the mix?
It features some new material of mine and some remixes I did last year. There is a mix up of tempos and genres as well.

What’s typical for your music?
When I DJ, I play “Bass Music” which consists of Dubstep, Electro, Moombathon and Drum’n’Bass.

In my spare time I listen to a lot of other genres of music. I really like ‘Lana Del Rays’ new album at the moment.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere really. There is so much good music out at the moment, in all different genres. I always listen to as much different music as I can.

When I travel around to different places and countries I see a lot of different things and meet different people, that is also very inspiring.

Whats next for you?
Well, firstly my new single “Mosh Pit”. It is due to be released on Itunes 28th May. Then after that I will be following up with two more singles before an album.
